"Weebie"
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." ~Psalm 23:4
Angela Maria Ross Cooks , affectionately known as "Weebie" , was born on September 9, 1970, to Annie Mae Anderson Ross and Theodore Ross. She resided in Madison, Florida, until she established residency in Lake Park (Lowndes County), Georgia, three years ago.
Preceding Angela in death was her father, Theodore Ross.
Angela accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior earlier in her life and became a member of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church in Madison. She later rededicated her life and became a member of Northside Baptist Church in Valdosta, Georgia. She worshipped there until she was called to her heavenly home.
Weebie began her education in the Madison County Public School System but did not graduate. However, many years later, when she realized the importance of having an education, she enrolled in Cornerstone Christian Correspondence School and earned her high school diploma. She then obtained her Early Childhood certification from North Florida Community College (NFCC). Not only did she set these goals for herself, but she also persevered to achieve them.
Weebie was a selfless person who constantly put others ahead of herself. She was very thoughtful, supportive, patient, strong, and caring. She treated others the way she wanted to be treated. She was a people person who never met a stranger, for she considered them to be friends she was just getting to know. These qualities made her most effective in caring for children and the elderly.
Angela was employed at Candyland Daycare sharing her love for kids. She also worked in the fast food industry and always served her customers with a smile. Weebie retired as a home health care aide at the Senior Citizens Council of Madison.
Love for her family was evident in the quality of good times they shared. Weebie was fun loving with a natural talent for joking around. She loved cooking for the family and preparing their favorite foods; sour cream pound cake, dressing, and red velvet cake were requested most often. In addition to the joy she had in cooking, Weebie also enjoyed reading, fishing, and being in the fresh air and sunshine.
Angela Maria Ross Cooks blessed many hearts with her life, laughter, and love. She fought the good fight of faith but departed this earthly life on April 19, 2023. She quietly transitioned from her labor to rest and to live eternally with the Lord.
