Life Story
Annie Ree Roberts Williams
1940-2021
"For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's." – Romans 14:8
Annie Ree Roberts Williams was born on September 17, 1940, to Aubry Roberts and Luncinda Robinson Roberts, in Camp Hill, Alabama. She spent the early years of her life there and received her education in the Tallapossa County (AL) School System before she relocated to Madison County, FL, more than 60 years ago. It was here that she met and married Joe Chandler Williams, and they raised their sons, Willie C. and James O., in a Christian home. Both parents, as well as her son Willie C., preceded her in death.
Annie Ree counted her blessings and did not take life for granted. She was a fun-loving and family-oriented person who thoroughly enjoyed spending time with her children, grandchildren, other relatives, and friends. Her porch was always a welcome gathering place for them all.
She was a homemaker who enjoyed spending time knitting and sewing, but most of all, Annie Ree especially enjoyed cooking for family gatherings however, in her later years, she discovered yet another pasttime for her enjoyment - watching Perry Mason, Gunsmoke, and In the Heat of the Night television series from yesteryear.
Early Tuesday morning, on January 12, 2021, God dispatched a messenger from heaven to go release Mother Annie Ree Roberts Williams from her earthly life in preparation for her eternal home in glory, for which she had prepared herself. God whispered, "Come, my child, I have prepared a special place just for you." Annie Ree fought a good fight, she kept the faith, and we rejoice to know she finished her course.
Cherishing her legacy and loving memories are: her son: James O. "Shorty Cat" Williams of Madison, FL; daughter-in- law: Patricia Williams of Madison, FL; grandson she raised as a son: Willie "Noonie" (Salina) Williams, Jr. of Madison, Florida; eight grandchildren: Annie Williams, April Williams, Charece Williams, and Mike Williams, all of Madison, FL, Tiffany (Wallace) Montina and Jamie Williams, both of Jacksonville, FL, Bryan Williams of Tallahassee, FL, and Bryce Williams of Atlanta, GA; nineteen great-grandchildren: Anthony, Keyasme, Clemmesia, Wili'Yona, Wili'Lecia, Nacoya, Malachi, Brison, Briley, Madicyn, Devontae, James, Jaiden, Ja'Miley, Ja'Kia, Bryliee, Quar'Auvience, Heaven, and Essence; five great great grandchildren; special niece: Louise Ray of Opalaka, AL; special friends: Ella Mae Brown and Essie Mae Jones, both of Madison, FL; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, a community of neighbors who will miss her dearly, and other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
