Antavis Gartrell Miller, Sr.
"For to me, to live is Christ, and to die is gain." – Philippians 1:21

Antavis Gartrel Miller, Sr. ,28, of Havana, FL, departed this life on Sunday, August 1, 2021. The loving son of Delray Miller, Sr. and Angelee Harp, Antavis was affectionately known as "Haney" throughout the Havana community. He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents: Everlene Miller and CB Miller; maternal grandfather: Freddie Lee Bradley; and brothers: Jerry Kirkland and Javaris Miller, Sr.

Having received his education from the Gadsden County School System, Antavis chose employment with the food industry, notably at Golden Corral and Wahoo. He also worked with his step-grandfather in the sod business.

Antavis was one who was full of life; therefore, he made it his personal mission to live life to the fullest. He was a people-person who enjoyed the conversations he had with others. He will be remembered for his famous three words he used to see if they were listening or focused on their conversation by frequently asking them, "You feel me?"

He had an enduring love for family and got together with them as much time as possible. He was especially proud of his son who is also his namesake.

Although he valued the time he spent with his family and friends, Antavis realized something was missing in his life, a void that could only be filled by building a relationship with the Lord. For this reason, he made the choice to open his heart to confess Christ and receive Him as his personal Savior and brought into the (Christian) fold a month ago.

Forever loving and cherishing his precious memory are his parents: Delray Miller, Sr. of Bainbridge, GA and Angelee Harp of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; companion: Chambrea Fain of Havana, FL; son: Antavis Gartrell Miller, Jr. of Havana, FL; maternal grandmother: Thelma Lee Samuels of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; step grandfather: Cleve Mclendon of Tallahassee, FL; goddaughter: Emani Harvey of Tallahassee, FL; brothers: Terry Kirkland of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, Derrick Miller and Delray Miller, Jr., both of Tallahassee, FL, Matthew Miller of Bainbridge, GA; Zachary Johnson and Michael Mills, both of Ft. Lauderdale, FL; sisters: Ashley Miller and Deljarnia Miller, both of Tallahassee, FL, Alaysha Mathis and Jasmine Mathis, both of Bainbridge, GA, Shatina Kirkland, Tiara Kirkland, and Nya Mills, all of Ft. Lauderdale, FL, and Amber Russell of Atlanta, GA.; a host of other sorrowing loved ones, friends, and neighbors.
