Arieon De'Angelo Hodge
2007-2025

Arieon De'Angelo Hodge, the beloved son of Anthony Hodge, Jr.  and Tinicha Blackshear, was born on September 5, 2007. He was affectionately known as "Tookey" by most of his family and friends, but to his adoring grandmother Angela, he was her "Grandma Baby." Arieon was a resident of Madison, Florida.

Arieon's parents wanted what was best for him and were grateful for their village of supporters who helped to nurture him. He maintained a close bond with Grandmother Angela until her transition. Since that time, his grandfather Gary fondly became his dedicated mentor who was committed to teaching him beneficial life skills, such as how to correctly build projects, grow plants, and properly service a lawn. Arieon proudly applied what he was taught in helping his mother to plant, grow, and maintain her very first garden.

Tookey had an extended list of special interests that involved his leisure. He enjoyed outdoor activities - swimming on sizzling summer days, fishing and crabbing for the catch of the day, riding his four wheelers in the breeze, bike riding with his cousins and friends, sitting around the bonfire with others, as well as playing intense games of football and basketball. On the other hand, Tookey also had enjoyment in activities that helped him to relax, such as making TikTok and You Tube videos with his cousins who were raised as his siblings, and dancing. Most of all, he appreciated the wind down time he shared with his mother when they watched movies and their favorite television series together. He also loved spending time with his pets, especially Bella, the family's oldest dog.

Tookey was described as a big kid at heart. He cherished the times they visited theme parks and trampoline parks. With his spirited sense of humor, he looked forward to playing jokes on unsuspecting family members. Tookey's favorite food was barbecue, and he thoroughly enjoyed putting barbecue sauce on everything else. His favorite expressions were, "It's good just mixing it with BBQ sauce" as well as "I'm the greatest."

Arieon was a faithful Madison County High School football fan who attended most of the Cowboys home games.

Arieon attended Madison County High School during his freshman and sophomore years. However, during his junior year, he transitioned to the Florida Virtual School for online classes where he worked diligently to maintain A/B honor roll status. Because of his academic achievement, his plan was to return to campus for his senior year and walk with the Class of 2026 at their graduation ceremony.

In his earlier teen years, Arieon dedicated his life to Christ and embraced Him as his Lord and Savior. This was the greatest decision he made in his life.

The time is always right to do what is right. "Tookey" was taught to make wise choices. In this situation, however, only God can provide answers for the community's heartbreak that only prayer and time will heal, for on Friday, February 14, 2025, Arieon De'Angelo Hodge transitioned from his earthly life to receive eternal rest.

Arieon De'Angelo Hodge's life would seem too short to many, but those who were blessed to be touched by him understand that his existence and the imprint on his loved ones' hearts exceed the amount of time he lived.  Those who will miss him until they meet again are his parents: Tinicha (Geremy) Jackson of Madison, FL and Anthony (Ebony) Hodge, Jr. of Valdosta, GA; brothers: Jeremiah Hodge of Live Oak, FL; sisters: Arieaunna Jackson,  Sa'Nahia Jackson, both of Madison, FL and Ahbri Hodge of Valdosta, GA ; cousins raised as siblings: Malachi Gibson, Danquarious Gibson, Jr. and Jerniee Smith, all of Madison, FL; maternal grandparents: Isaac Blackshear of Crestview, FL and Gary (Princess) Cooks of Madison, FL; paternal grandparent: Mary Hodge of Madison, FL; Bonus grandparents: Sharon (Antuan) Siplin of Madison, FL and Gerald Jackson of Miami, FL; god father: Larry (LaChandra) Smith, Jr. of Valdosta, GA; god brothers: Kamari Cain and Jayceon Robinson; god sisters: Kameria Cain and Diamond Henderson; along with a host of sorrowing relatives, loving friends, his compassionate neighbors, and selfless mentors.
