The Life and Legacy of Benjamin Cedric Williams

Benjamin Cedric Williams was born on August 28, 1965, to Benjamin Williams Jr. and Deloris Williams Brown. He earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Florida A&M University and was a faithful member of Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Tallahassee, Florida.

On October 30, 1997, Benjamin married his beloved wife, Cynthia A. Williams. Together, they built a loving family centered around their daughters, Brianna C. Williams and Krischan C. Williams.

Benjamin dedicated more than 30 years of his life to serving the State of Florida through the Department of Financial Services. Throughout his long and distinguished career, he was known for his dedication, strong work ethic, and commitment to serving others. After more than three decades of faithful service, he proudly retired, leaving behind a legacy of perseverance and excellence.

Benjamin was also a gifted and hardworking entrepreneur who operated his own online computer business. Through his knowledge, dedication, and willingness to help others, his business became more than a source of income—it provided another meaningful way for him to serve and contribute to his community. He was always willing to share his expertise, lend a helping hand, and assist those around him.

In his leisure time, Benjamin found joy in life’s simple pleasures, including grilling, cooking, and listening to music. He treasured every opportunity to be surrounded by his family and friends. To Benjamin, some of life’s greatest moments were those spent simply enjoying the company of the people he loved.

A proud Florida A&M University Rattler, Benjamin carried his Rattler pride wherever he went. His love for FAMU extended far beyond school spirit—it was a meaningful part of his identity, and he took great pride in being a Rattler.

Above all, Benjamin was a loving and giving man with a genuine heart for people. He would do anything for anyone and never hesitated to help someone in need. Whether through a kind word, a helping hand, the gift of his time, or simply being present, Benjamin’s generosity, loyalty, humor, and sincere love for others left an enduring impression upon everyone blessed to know him.

Benjamin was preceded in death by his parents, Benjamin Williams Jr. and Deloris Williams Brown; his paternal grandparents, Benjamin Williams Sr. and Annie Bell Williams; and his maternal grandparents, Rounder Williams and Mary Ella Harris.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory his beloved wife, Cynthia A. Williams; two daughters, Brianna C. Williams and Krischan C. Williams; one brother, Damion Williams; one sister, Valerie Johnson (Arthur); three nephews; four nieces; and a host of other loving relatives and dear friends.

Benjamin will be remembered not only for the life he lived and the many things he accomplished, but also for the countless lives he touched along the way. His devotion to his family, pride in his Rattler FAMUly, dedication to his community, and willingness to give so freely of himself will forever remain a cherished part of his enduring legacy.
