U.S. Veteran Benjamine Herring
“I’ve Come This Far by Faith”

Benjamine Herring, the son of Samuel and Bernice Herring, was born on March 7, 1943, in Madison, Florida. He continued to live there with his siblings in their loving, supportive, and Godfearing home and community until young adulthood.

Benjamine attended Madison County Training School where he was instructed in academic subjects as well as necessary life skills that prepared him for his successful life. After he graduated from high school, he enlisted in the United States Army and served a tour of duty in Germany.

Following his honorable military discharge, Benjamine returned to Madison long enough to meet his forever love and soulmate, Mary Williams. He relocated to Miami, Florida, but returned to Madison to marry her. The jubilant couple departed for their life together in Miami where they were later blessed to be the loving parents of Eric and Sybil.

Benjamine was committed to properly taking care of his family. As a result, he created and became a successful business owner of B&E Pallet Company for 20+ years. During his retirement, however, Benjamine relocated his family to Madison, the place of his humble beginnings.

After living in Madison for a few years, Benjamine Herring’s health began to fail. Then on Monday, February 2, 2026, he peacefully and quietly answered the Master’s call for him to come on up to Bright Glory for eternal rest.

Loved ones who have Benjamine Herring’s love in their heart will also carry his beautiful spirit with them forever. While they will miss him, they have faith in the promise that they will meet again. Among them are his loving and supportive wife of 60+ years, Mary Williams Herring of Madison, FL; faithful daughter: Sybil Herring of Madison, FL; loving siblings: Leroney (Marcia) Herring, Sr. of Miami, FL and Mildred (Tommie) Jonas of Madison, FL; grandchildren: Annette of Texas, Jeanette, Eric, Daijah, all of Miami, and Erikah of Madison; great-grandchildren: Skyler, Cody, Xander, Brielle, Nova, and Aliah; goddaughter: Aleshia Ridgeway of Alabama; along with many other sorrowing cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends.

Cherished loved ones who have preceded Benjamine Herring in death were his parents, Samuel and Bernice Herring; son, Eric Herring; siblings: Samuel Herring, Jr., Leroy Herring, and Edith Herring Anderson.
