Obituary

"If I can help somebody, as I pass along
If I can cheer somebody, with a word or song
If I can show somebody, that he's travelling wrong
Then my living shall not be in vain" - Mahalia Jackson

Quietly and peacefully on Saturday night, February 20, 2021, Betty Elizabeth Moore Evans, slipped away into eternal rest. Betty "Bet Lee" as she was known, was born on August 26, 1950, in Madison, Florida, to the late Adam and Annie Mae Moore. She attended the local public schools as well as North Florida Community College. She worked at various jobs, but mainly as a caregiver to many who were sick and in need of a caring hand. Her personality attracted young and old to her because she was the most giving person that one could meet.

Betty accepted Christ as her personal Lord and Savior and joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Madison, Florida, under the spiritual leadership of the late Reverend James C. Miller. Over the course of many years, she willingly gave her time, talents, treasures, and service in many capacities. She enjoyed singing in the choir, being apart of the culinary committee and house-keeping staff, being a missionary, as well as a founding member of the Pastor's Pulpit Aide Auxiliary.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her daughter: Nichole Charmaine Brown; grandson: Jeremy Alexander; siblings: Ernest Moore, Moses Moore, infant David Williams, Marie Moore Richardson, and Dorothy Moore Butler.

Forever cherishing Betty's life, love, and memories are her brothers: Ralph (Jennie) Collins, John Adam Moore, Sr., and Willie Howard Williams; sister: Annie Moore (Raleigh) Barfield; granddaughters, whom she reared: Bonita McQuay, Kristen Kennedy, Ashlee Kennedy, and Brittany Kennedy; great-grandchildren: La'Brayaa, Vashaun, Leilani, Leila, Ashanti, Ashton, Alani, and Chance; nieces: like daughters, Evelyn Butler, Constance Richardson, and Tanya Butler; additional nieces and nephews: Ralph, Jennifer, Kevin, Kimberleah, Marcus, Chris, Angela, Mike, Douglas, Shawn, Charlotte, Fayon, John Adam, Kamecia, Amber, Laysha, Tasha, Raleigh, Tonya, Brian, Temeicko, Wanda, Derrick, Aaron, Ren, Desi, Nicki; great-nieces and nephews; great-great-nieces and nephews, who revered her as "Grandmama"; devoted friends: Queen Blackshear and Alton Lee; supportive cousin: Lillie Graham; her Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church family; and a host of cousins, other loving relatives, and sorrowful friends.
