“Whoever Lives and Believes in Me Shall Never Die”
John 11:26

Sister Beverly Milton Moore, the beloved daughter of Ronnie Williams and Mary E. Williams, was born on December 19, 1954. During different phases of her life, she was affectionately given nicknames/monikers that she answered to with fondness - “Beverly Jo,” “Ma Moe,” and “Ms. Bee.” She was a lifelong resident of Madison, Florida.

Early in her life, Beverly accepted Christ as her Redeemer. She was a member of New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church and an honorary member of Ivy Lane Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. As her faith matured, she was committed to thework of the Lord by turning her faith into action. She had compassion for anyone in need and selflessly gave her time and talent for the betterment of the community and beyond. It became her personal mission to be generous in sharing with charities and causes dear to her heart, such as Easter Seals, Cancer Centers, Ronald McDonald House, St. Jude, and Feeding the Homeless.

Beverly received her formal education at Madison County Training School (M.C.T.S.), which became Suwannee River High School (S.R.H.S.) for a few years before its merger with Madison High School where she was in the Class of 1972. She then broadened her career awareness by briefly enrolling in Job Corps. Years later, she realized that one is never too old to learn and that education is the key to a better outlook on life. She then pursued her Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Paul Quinn College in Waco, Texas. Because she later saw a future in the Florida Department of Corrections, she returned to school for training.

Whatever Beverly aspired to do, she challenged herself to do her best. She worked for many years in the Student Union at the Snack Bar on North Florida Junior College campus. Without trying, she became a Mom away from home, one who had compassion for students who were hungry, but did not have any money. On days when there was extra, she made it possible for them to earn lunch by doing small jobs in the Student Union. Her next career move was with the Jefferson County Correctional institution where she achieved the rank of Correctional Office Sergeant, a job she maintained until her retirement.

Beverly realized how rewarding being involved in activities could be. She loved being the chairperson of New Bethel’s Culinary Committee and special projects, fundraising, teaching Sunday School, and advising the Pastor. She was a very active and faithful member of the Order of the Eastern Star, Electa Chapter 64 until the chapter dissolved. She was also a member of Sigma Gamma Rho Sorority, Inc.

At the end of her life, Sister Beverly Milton Moore peacefully closed her eyes and responded when the Master whispered, “Your work here is done. Now go and rest awhile.” He then dispatched an angel from Heaven and in the blink of an eye early on Good Friday, April 3, 2026, and took His precious jewel to rest eternally in Paradise.
