Mrs. Constance Washington Freeman
June 20, 1952 – April 24, 2024

A Time to Be Born:
Constance Washington Freeman was born on June 20, 1952 in Madison, Florida to Henry "Bo" and Gertrude Franklin Washington.

A Time to Worship:
Constance began her Christian fellowship at an early age. She accepted Christ and was baptized by the Reverend J.C. Miller and became a member of Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church. She started her walk with the Lord by singing in the Youth Choir which ultimately led to her devoted service as secretary and usher at Little Elk Missionary Baptist Church in Athens, Alabama. Upon her relocation to Madison, Florida, in 2016, Constance rejoined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Pastor Marcus Hawkins and later under the leadership of Pastor Carlos Presley. She was a faithful and active member who participated in church and community activities.

A Time to Learn:
Constance received her education in the Madison County Public Schools and was a graduate of Suwanee River High School (formerly Madison County Training School) in the Class of 1970. She received her Associate of Arts Degree from North Florida Community College in April 1972.

A Time to Love:
Constance married Jycola Scurry in 1972 and were later blessed with three sons - Jason, Jycola Jr. and Jacob. However, in 1999, she married Patrick Freeman in Thomasville, Georgia. They later moved to Athens, Alabama, where they resided for 16 years until his death.

A Time to Labor:
Constance was employed as the secretary for more than 15 years at Washington Middle School in Cairo, Georgia.

A Time to Rest:
Constance Washington Freeman lived to die only to live again. She transitioned from this walk of life and entered the Glory of God early in the morning on Wednesday, April 24, 2024 at Lake Park Nursing Home in Madison, Florida.

Preceding Constance in death were her parents: Henry "Bo" Washington and Gertrude Franklin Washington; sisters: Josie Washington Welcome and Regina Brown; and brothers: James Washington Robinson and Albert Washington.

A Time to Cherish:
Loved ones who will forever cherish Constance Freeman's beautiful memories, forever love, and Christian legacy are her devoted sons: Jason (Alexandria) Scurry of Miami, FL, Jycola (Iya) Scurry of California, Jacob Scurry of California; siblings: Gertrude Green of Madison, FL, George (Shirley) Washington, Genetha (Herbert) Pelham both of Gainesville, FL, Booker T. (Veronica) Washington of Cairo, GA, Inez W. Bennett and Gloria Jean Washington both of Madison, FL and Brenda F. Copeland of Warner Robins, GA; eight grandchildren; one great-grandson; and a host of loving nieces, nephews, cousins and many sorrowing friends.
