Deacon Anthony Feacher, Jr.
"The Steps of a Good Man Are Ordered By the Lord" ~ Psalm 34:23

The son of Anthony Feacher, Sr. and Ellen Cuyler, Deacon Anthony Feacher, Jr. was born in Monticello, Florida, on September 8, 1932. However, he grew up with his siblings in a close-knit, God-fearing family and community in rural Madison, Florida. His upbringing taught him to love God, be self-sufficient and reliable, to learn how to do many things, and to value the importance of an honest day's work.

Widely known for his friendliness and his engaging smile, he was also a jokester who provided others with opportunities to laugh. He knew that laughter could sometimes be the best medicine to lighten their burdens and/or lift their morale. He was very thoughtful at assisting others as well.

Deacon Feacher began his Christian journey during his early years when he accepted Christ as his Redeemer. As he grew in faith, faithfulness, and experience, he was ordained a deacon at Emmanuel Missionary Baptist Church in Jacksonville, Florida. There, he was also a well-prepared and knowledgeable Sunday School teacher. Later in life after he moved back to Madison, Florida, he joined Crossroad Missionary Baptist Church where he served until his death.

Deacon Feacher retired after 30 years of dedicated service as a forklift driver for Pantry Pride, later known as Winn-Dixie grocery distribution. He was a hard worker and passed these traits to his children. Deacon Feacher was a good provider and a source of strength for his family and friends. Academically, he also tutored them with their math schoolwork. His work ethic, leadership, and character impacted their lives in meaningful ways. Most importantly, he was family-oriented and loved his sisters, brothers, and children immensely.

Growing up in rural Madison County, Deacon Feacher appreciated the smell of fresh air, the warmth of sunshine, and the peacefulness of nature. In his leisure time, he loved deer hunting, butchering hogs and goats, fishing, and gardening. Likewise, he proved his skills as a mechanic with a pair of pliers and a screwdriver; he could fix anything. He also enjoyed traveling and did so as often as possible.

Deacon Anthony Feacher, Jr., completed his earthly journey on Wednesday, September 3, 2025, when he peacefully transitioned from mortality to immortality. "If, when you have given the best of your service …. He will understand and say well done." Because of his faith in the Resurrection, he awaits the grand reunion with all the saints in heaven.

Deacon Anthony Feacher, Jr. was a father, grandfather, brother, uncle, cousin, church leader, Sunday School teacher, friend, but most of all, he was a child of God. His well-lived life was his legacy and testament of his love, faithfulness, and commitment to service. While he is now absent from everyone's sight, he will never depart from their hearts. Those who will miss him until they meet again are his sons: Carlton Feacher of Temple Terrace, FL, Anthony Vincent (Schernita) Feacher of Conyers, GA, and Charles Davis (Sharon) Feacher of Jacksonville, FL; daughters: Belinda (Charles) Givens of St. Augustine, FL, Clarice (Robert) Muller of Jacksonville, FL, Velma (William) Priester of Lithia Springs, GA, Vicki Renee Feacher of Stone Mountain, GA, and Veronica (Marcus) Feacher-Green of Marietta, GA; brothers: Robert James (Edith) Feacher of Jacksonville, FL, and Frank Nixon Merritt of Madison, FL; sisters: Ella Mae Brown Anderson, Beatrice (Vernon) Harper, and Posey Mae (George, Sr.) Brinson, all of Madison, FL; seventeen grandchildren; seventeen great-grandchildren; three great-great grandchildren; along with many other sorrowing relatives, compassionate friends, and consoling church family.

Loved ones who preceded Deacon Anthony Feacher, Jr. in death were his parents: Anthony Feacher, Sr. and Ellen Cuyler Feacher; beloved wife of 41 years: Mary Feacher; son: Dwight Feacher; daughter: Yvette Feacher Haynes; brothers: Ernest Feacher and Alphonso Shaw; and his sister: Lillie Mae Feacher Williams.
