Desha LaTonya Mobley Jackson
1969 – 2023
"Then My Living Has Not Been in Vain."

Desha LaTonya Mobley Jackson , affectionately known as "D", delighted her parents, Jerry Mobley and Barbara Cooks Mobley, with her arrival in the world on December 14, 1969. She resided in Miami, FL during her formative years; however, the family later relocated to their official residence in Valdosta, Georgia.

Preceding Desha in death was her mother.

"D" completed her public-school education in the Valdosta City School District before she began her college career at Georgia Military College. Afterwards, she pursued her bachelor's degree in psychology at Valdosta State University.

The joy of Desha's life was her family. She loved sharing quality time with them and expressing her affection for them in loving ways such as cooking their specialty dishes and comfort foods she always prepared with love. These good times, together with their times of sorrow, have created lasting memories which will forever bind them as family.

Desha created more beauty in the world through her love of people. She enjoyed talking and staying connected with her friends. Likewise, she made a choice to treat everyone she encountered with Christlike compassion. "D" began her career employment at the Raintree Village Youth Center. She was later employed as a Customer Service representative for Georgia Telephone Company. Her people skills enabled her to be most effective in helpfulness, problem solving, and concern for her customers' situations. Unfortunately, she developed health challenges that made it necessary for her to seek early retirement.

It is hard to forget someone who gave you so much to remember. As stated in her favorite song, "Many Rivers to Cross", Desha LaTonya Mobley Jackson completed her earthly tasks. Therefore., she gently closed her eyes and transitioned to her eternal rest on Thursday, August 31, 2023. She is gone from her loved ones' sight but never from their hearts.

Celebrating the life of Desha LaTonya Mobley Jackson is a testimony of her love, her life, and her legacy. Loved ones to cherish her precious memory are her children: DeShe Jackson, DeAndra Jackson, and Darrell Jackson, all of Valdosta, GA; father: Deacon Jerry (Lora) Mobley of Madison, FL; brother: Marone (Heather) Mobley of Duluth, GA ; grandchildren: Melanie Miller and Messiah Walls, both of Valdosta, GA; nephews: Donovan Mobley of Tallahassee, FL and Evan Mobley of Duluth, GA; niece: Marcia Mobley of Duluth, GA; great-niece: Brooklyn Mobley of Tallahassee, FL; and bonus brothers: Michael, Marlon, and RiNauldo, all of Madison, FL; and best friend: Iris Simien of Houston, TX; along with countless other loving relatives and sympathetic friends.
