Dwoyne LaVel Day was born June 24, 1985, in Washington, D.C. He graduated from Minor High School, Adamsville, AL, in 2004. At an early age, he joined Sardis Missionary Baptist Church, Birmingham, AL. He attended the University of North Alabama (UNA). It was at UNA where Dwoyne got his first job in culinary arts. He relocated to Huntsville and worked at the University of Alabama Huntsville. After several years, Dwoyne wanted to get closer to Birmingham, so he moved to Tuscaloosa where he worked at Stillman College. He commuted from between Birmingham and Tuscaloosa, and on the weekends he enjoyed attending Faith Chapel. Eventually, he took a job in Tallahassee, FL, at Florida State University. Dwoyne loved to "DJ" and work on cars in his spare time. He was a devoted and loving single father to his son, Chris. Although Dwoyne moved away, he would visit with his twin brother, Brandon, and younger brother Christopher, at every opportunity. He and his twin brother, Brandon, were inseparable.

Dwoyne was preceded in death by his grandparents, Roy Gavin, Iretha Day, and Willie Day, and uncle, Andre Day.

Dwoyne is survived by his son, Christopher Wade LaVel Day, his mother, Becky Louise Long, Bessemer, AL, his father, Dwayne LaVel Day, Capitol Heights, MD, his brothers Brandon William Day (Bonnie), and Christopher Michael Joseph, Birmingham, AL, and Frederick Butler (Lakesha) of Washington, D.C.; maternal grandmother, Nancy Jean Gavin, Punta Gorda, Florida; aunts, Evelyn Joyce Croxton (Jessie); Christina Nancy Houston (Keith); uncles, Eddie James Gillis (Danielle), Malcolm Earl Gavin (Brisha); paternal aunts, Iretha Wade (Steve), Avis Coley (Roger), Karen Henson (John), Alcyon Green, Sabrina Day, Cassandra Day; uncles Eugene Day, James Day; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and cherished friends.
