Evelyn Lee Ward
1951 – 2021

Evelyn Lee Ward, affectionately called "Bo", was the daughter of William Ward, Sr. and Erma Lee Haynes. She has lived in Madison, FL her entire life. Her parents and sisters: Aldean Ward and Mattie Ward; brothers: William Ward, Jr., Johnny Stephens, Sr., and Sylvester Ward all preceded her in death.

Loving people and meeting their needs was most important to Evelyn. She loved her family unconditionally and was always there for them. She also had a big heart for showing others that she cared about them and/or their situation. She was willing to do what she could to help, even if it was only to be a good listener. She included her volunteering to be a mentor for middle school youth as well.

Evelyn was educated in the Madison County Public School System. This enabled her to have several options in her career choices. She was employed at Gold Kist poultry plant for nearly three years before working at Roebuck Day Care Center. She later became a substitute teacher at Madison County Central School/ Madison Middle School.

Evelyn had been a member of St. Thomas African Methodist Episcopal Church since her early years. Her failing health did not allow her to attend as she desired but her love for the Lord and her commitment in faith was strong.

I am at peace and my soul is at rest. There is no need for tears. For your love, I was so blessed for all those years. Evelyn's life journey ended on Friday, September 3, 2021, and she is now resting in the arms of Jesus.

Cherishing her loving memories are her sons: Tony Hall, Darryl Ward, and Alpha Omega Jackson, all of Madison, FL; daughters: Courtney (Joshua) Akins and Adrienne Jackson, all of Madison, FL; 16 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; brothers: Freddie Johnson, of Madison, FL, William Ward of Jupiter, FL, and Eugene Ward of Connecticut; sisters: Adean Ward, Dorothy Johnson, and Eula (Michael) Boatman, all of Madison, FL, and Rosenna Magwood of Fitzgerald, GA; special cousin: John Haynes; special friends: Demetria Phillips, Brenda Stephens, and Monice Wesley, all of Madison, FL; special niece: Stacey Johnson; a host of sorrowing family and many other loving friends.
