Program

Flossie Mae Wright Pridgen, a devoted educator, peacefully passed away on December 18, 2023, in Tampa, FL. She was a native of Madison, FL and a resident of Tampa since 1968.

She accepted Christ at an early age as her Lord and Savior at New Antioch A.M.E. Church. Her heart desires were to love and serve her God, and her family. She was a devout servant and devoted mother, and grandmother.

At a tender age, she attended the public schools of Madison County, Fl. She continued her education at Florida A & M University and Florida Memorial University. She earned a bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. She retired as a school teacher in Hillsborough County.

She was preceded in death by her husband: John L. Pridgen; father: Milford Wright; mother: Alma Lee Dampkin; sons: Frederick Leroy Wright and Kelvin Reddick; daughter: Cheryl Reddick; grandson: Elliott Dontori Barnes; sister: Dorothy Milton; and niece: Shavon Oliver Jones.

She leaves precious loving memories to her daughters: Machelle (Kenneth) Pickering of Tampa, FL and Attorney Sonya Pridgen of Tampa, FL; grandchildren: D'Ontario Joseph, Shonkeia Joseph, Sha'Quita Francis, Kelvon Francis, and Aaron (Shayla) Diggs, all of Tampa, FL; and Dante L. Johnson of Valdosta, GA; great grand-children: Izayah Codio, Alani Diggs, Aaleiah Diggs, Aalyvia Diggs, and Audi-Lise Diggs all of Tampa, FL; a devoted brother-in-law: Jarfus Milton of Tampa, FL; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and friends.
