Gary Reed Hills, the son of Clarence Hills, Sr. and Francesca Reed, was born on October 24, 2008. He was affectionately known as "G Baby" by his family and friends. He was well-mannered, respectful, trustworthy, and dependable. Gary was a resident of Madison, Florida.

An African proverb states, "It takes a village to raise a child," and that was no exception for Gary. He grew up under the watchful eyes of his village of supporters – family, community, church, and school. These individuals nurtured him with wise counsel, mentorship, and influenced the development of his growth and maturity.

Gary began his spiritual foundation as a small boy. Until the closure of "in-person" church service resulting from the Covid-19 Pandemic in 2020, Gary regularly attended Mt. Zion-Cherry Lake African Methodist Episcopal Church where he actively participated in Church School and the Second Sunday Youth Fellowship of Churches. The children were trained to be youth leaders and to conduct all aspects of Sunday service, except for the sermon / message.  Following the Pandemic, Gary attended Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church and was spiritually led to become a member there.

Gary's personality easily attracted other young people to his friendship circle. His dedication and involvement in sports developed his leadership skills; it challenged him to volunteer first, whether it was to motivate others or to lead, by example, the importance of hard work and dedication.  As he matured, he also earned the respect and support of his coaches and teachers alike.

Gary loved contact sports, especially football and baseball. Before he was old enough to participate, he was humble enough (being the waterboy) to show his dedication. During his football career as a Madison County Central School BRONCO, he played on the offensive line and the defensive line. His hard work and commitment resulted in his being honored with the "2023 Best Offensive Linesman" award. His participation in football also improved his work ethic in the classroom.

The time is always right to do what is right. "G Baby" was taught to make wise choices, and he usually did so; however, his final choice resulted in community heartbreak that only prayer and time will heal. On Friday, February 14, 2025, Gary Reed Hills transitioned from earthly life to receive eternal rest.

Gary Reed Hills's life would seem too short to many, but those who were blessed to be touched by him understand that his existence and the imprint he left on his loved ones' hearts exceed the amount of time he lived. Those who will miss him until they meet again are his mother: Francesca Reed of Madison, FL; sisters: Quenesia Reed, Janiyah Joseph, and Tanika Hills, all of Madison, FL; brothers: De'Angelo (Dawntessa) Hills of Valdosta, GA, Clarence Hills of Miami, FL, and Quincy Hills of Raleigh, NC; maternal grandmother: Kathy Hepburn of Madison, FL; paternal grandmother: Margaret Sutton of Pinetta, FL; special friends: Gavion Reed, Kenmorie Jones, and I'Zealus Robinson, all of Madison, FL; bonus sister: Tatiana Carter, along with a host of sorrowing relatives, compassionate friends, his sympathetic BRONCO football family, and selfless mentors.

Gary Reed Hills was preceded in death by his father, Clarence Hills, Sr. and his brother, James Clarence Hills, Jr.
