GEORGE ALLEN, JR.
JUNE 6, 1651 - APRIL 18, 2025
George Allen, Jr., the beloved son of George Allen, Sr. and Agnes Perry, began active duty as an infant on June 6, 1951. At an early age, Agnes nurtured him to be respectful, to have a valuable work ethic, and to keep God first in all his endeavors. She, with the overwhelming support of her sisters, motivated him to have a "can do" spirit for achieving success in life.
George received his formal education from the Alachua County Public School System in Gainesville, Florida, where he resided. Having accepted Christ as his Savior early in life, he was faithful in his worship and bold in his praise. His love for the Lord allowed His light to shine in his daily interactions with others.
George was married to Vivian Elaine Valentine for fifteen years. He was devoted to family and to those he loved, and he treated everyone the way he desired to be treated. Not only did he give respect to others, but he also gained it from them. This is the timeless virtue that he later instilled in his children and others whose lives he impacted.
While he possessed the personality of "The Boss," George was also a private person. On the other hand, he was one who never met a stranger and was a friend to all. He was honest, helpful, outgoing, and very generous. He always felt good about giving back to the community. He took pride in creating his own tradition of giving roses to the ladies in the Rutledge, Florida, community during the holidays.
Motivated to actively serve his country, George enlisted in the United States Army and later, the United States Army Reserves. Committed to his oath, he served the country with valor and was honorably discharged after many years of his commitment to duty. Because of its positive impact, George often reminisced of his military experience.
George was a hard worker who gave his best effort in whatever he was engaged in doing. Although he had great experiences in his career, he also looked forward to his leisure time. He loved football and cars. He also devoted a lot of time and energy collecting and restoring antiques. He was passionate about being in the fresh air and sunshine, and on any given day, he could be found on his property tending the land. However, he loved to dress nicely and had pride in looking exceptionally "dapper."
"It's time to come home, dear brother; your tour of duty is through. You've given as much as anyone could do." The Lord recognized that it is well with George Allen, Jr.'s soul. He has fulfilled his life's mission, and will be rewarded for his integrity, faith, and perseverance. Therefore, the Lord chose Friday, April 18, 2025, to bring his faithful servant home to earn eternal rest.
"So, take your place of honor among those who have gone before and know that you will be remembered now and evermore." Those who will cherish the life, love, and legacy of George Allen, Jr. are his son: Antwan Allen; daughter: Lakeysha Allen; devoted partner: Vivian Elaine Valentine; goddaughter: Patricia Baker; bonus children: Victor Valentine, Brent Valentine, and Denisha Valentine; aunt: Willie Mae Williams; special lifelong friends: Reuben Williams and Alfair Durant; together with many other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
George Allen, Jr. was preceded in death by his parents: George Allen, Sr. and Agnes Perry; daughter: Ramonica M. Allen and three aunts.
