Obituary

Mr. James Oris Williams "SHORTY"
1961 - 2021

Born on March 5, 1961, to Chandler Williams, Sr., and Annie Ree Williams was their precious baby boy, James Oris Williams, who brought much joy into their lives. He was a lifelong resident of Madison, Florida. His parents, together with his brother: Willie Chandler Williams, Sr., and sister: Mary Williams, all preceded him in death.

During the early years of his life, James was affectionately called "Shorty", a name that he answered to for the rest of his life. He was a family man who unconditionally loved his family, especially his grandchildren.

James Oris accepted Christ as his Redeemer early in life and lived by the Golden Rule --"Do unto others as you will have them do unto you".

One of Shorty's employment talents was auto mechanics; he was employed at Coleburn's Body Shop and later at Pilgrim's Pride. He was also a skilled presser who always satisfied the customers at Ida Bell's Cleaners on Orange Street as well as at Madison Cleaners.

He used his time away from his job(s) watching Lifetime movies and countless great westerns from the past.

Having answered the Master's call, James Oris Williams departed this life and transitioned to his eternal home on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

He left a legacy that will forever be embedded in the hearts of all who knew and loved him. Forever cherishing Shorty in their lives are his sons: James Williams, Bryan Williams, and Bryce Swilley; daughters: Annie Ree Williams, Tiffany (Wallace) Montina, and Jamie Williams; nephew raised as a son: Willie (Salina) Williams; and nieces raised as daughters: April Williams and Charece Williams; brothers: Joe (Dawn) Collins, Steve (Felicia) Collins, Chandler Williams, Richard Hill, Antonio (Vanessa) Williams; sisters: Yolanda Denson, Mary (Eric) Harvey, Vivian (James) Miller, Glendale Moore, Sheri (Anthony) McGhee, Glenda Jones, and Ovedia Davenport; grandchildren: Quar'Auvience, Anthony, Heaven, Essence, Keyasme, Wili'Yona, Clemmeshia, Jeremiah, Devontae, James, Jaiden, Willecia, Ja'Miley, Ja'Kia, Bryliee, and Landen; great-grandchildren: Quar'Auvience Jr., Zy'Liana, Paige, and Onixx; sister-in-law: Patricia Humphrey Williams; and a host of other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
