IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Janet Louise
Humphrey Jennings Jones
September 13, 1960 – December 26, 2021
SISTER JANET LOUISE HUMPHREY JENNINGS
1960 - 2021
A precious addition to Isaiah and Jeanette Alexander Humphrey's family was their new baby daughter, Janet Louise, who was born September 13, 1960. She brought much joy to their hearts and into the lives of everyone. Janet was a lifelong resident of the Madison County, FL community where she was affectionately called "Shang" by her family and friends. Janet was preceded in death by her father.
Early in her life, Janet accepted Christ as her Savior. This lifechanging experience led her to become an active member of the family of believers at New Bethel Primitive Baptist Church in Madison. She willingly used her talents to be of service wherever she was needed.
Janet was educated in the Madison County School District. Upon completion of her education, she chose to begin her career for her many years of dedicated employment. Her most recent jobs were cooking at S & P and housekeeping at Best Western.
In addition to her being a hard worker, Janet included time to do things that were productive and fulfilling. She enjoyed the rewards of working in her garden as well as her Tuesday thrift store shopping sprees. At the end of the day, she settled down to watch her favorite syndicated television series of the past—The Andy Griffin Show, Perry Mason, and The Rifleman. Her uninterrupted enjoyment, however, was watching westerns and scary movies.
"But your eyes were looking homeward, to the place beyond the sky. Where Jesus held His outstretched arms, it was time to say goodbye."
On Sunday, December 26, 2021, Janet Louise Humphrey Jennings Jones had blessed peace with her Lord so near. She peacefully reached for His outstretched arms and entered eternal glory.
Janet loved her family and enjoyed the memorable times they spent together. While her physical presence will be missed, her loving, precious memory will be cherished forever, for it is hard to forget someone who gave them so much to remember.
Among those to cherish her precious memory are her mother: Jeanette Alexander Humphrey; special friend: Alton Bell; sons: Terrance Laron (Gwendolyn) Jennings of Jacksonville, FL; Rashun Damon Jennings of Madison, FL; brothers: Roosevelt Humphrey of Madison, FL; Barrett Simpo of Lake Park, GA; brother-in-law: Larry Aikens of Madison, FL; sisters: Rose (George) White, of Madison, FL, Betty Ann Aikens of Quitman, GA; Judy (Danny) Humphrey of Lake City, FL, and Patricia Williams of Madison, FL; grandchildren: Ariana Lashay Jennings and Tameria Damarien Jennings, both of Palatka, FL; along with countless other loving relatives, and sorrowing friends.
