It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of John "Johnny" Alvarez, a beloved brother, uncle, and friend, who departed this life on October 29, 2024, at the age of 37 in Valdosta, Georgia. Johnny was a dedicated truck driver for Heartland Express and a skilled welder for over four years, known for his strong work ethic and unwavering commitment to his craft.

Born and raised in our community, Johnny was not just known for his professional skills but also for his infectious smile and warm-hearted nature. An avid fan of the Raiders, he found joy in celebrating every game day, sharing his passion with friends and family.

Johnny's greatest treasure was his family. He cherished every moment spent with his niece and nephews, proudly nurturing their dreams and aspirations. He admired his nephew who is aspiring a career in the field culinary field.

As a kind and loving soul, Johnny made a lasting impact on everyone who knew him. His laughter will echo in our hearts, and his nurturing spirit will be dearly missed.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Arturo and Consuelo "Connie" (Ramirez) Alvarez.

Johnny leaves behind his loving family which include his siblings, Carlos Padilla Jr., and Andrea Reyna and her husband Tony Reyna; niece and nephews, LCpl. Anthony Valdez, Elena Reyna and Jaime Reyna who will carry on his legacy of kindness and passion for life. He is also survived by his aunt and uncles, Linda and David Rodriguez and Jesse Ramirez; and by his cousins David Rodriguez Jr. and Mark Rodriguez.

Visitation will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Monday, November 18, 2024 from 10:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

A Funeral Service honoring his life will be held at Chapel of the Light Funeral Home on Monday, November 18, 2024 at 11:30 a.m. Interment will be held at Fresno Memorial Gardens.
