Obituary

KELVIN LYDELL SOLOMON was the son of Sandy Smith and Larry Solomon, Sr. He was affectionately called "SCOOP" by his family and friends. He was a lifelong resident of Madison. Preceding him in death were his sister, Lakisha Solomon; maternal grandmother, Viola Smith; paternal grandparents, James Benjamin Solomon and Mae Beulah Sapp; and cousin, Antwon Gibson.

KELVIN received his education in the local public schools and was a 2001 Madison County High School graduate. He later obtained his certification in the Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) Program from Lively Technical School.

KELVIN used his people skills to make a difference in the lives of those he encountered daily. As soon as he was of age to seek employment, KELVIN began his 15-year career with Winn-Dixie. Because of his dependability and work ethic, he worked his way up from stocking shelves and bagging groceries to head manager and finally, area manager for the company. He also worked at other places of employment. This included his being a crew member at McDonald's, CNA at Care Well Assisted Living Facility and Lake Park Nursing Home Facility, and finally, being in management training at Love's.

In addition to his dedication and work ethic, KELVIN was also fun- loving. He appreciated spending his time off from work with his family and friends. He enjoyed cooking, singing, dancing, and life itself.

Earlier in his life, KELVIN accepted Christ as his personal Savior and enjoyed serving Him. He was a member of Gospel Train Outreach Ministries of Madison. Cherishing his memory and mourning his passing are his parents: Sandy (Johnny B.) Smith and Larry (Jerryline McGee) Solomon, Sr.; siblings: Natasha Wooten, Tameka (Reginger) Wooten, Latasha (Reshard) Brown, Carlos (Deshuandla) Solomon, Larry James Solomon, Jr., Brandon Brown, Marcus Maurice Solomon, and Marcus Arnold; maternal grandfather: Clarence McDaniel; maternal step-grandfather: Leroy Gibson; best friends: Bruno Johnson, Sharika Craddock, Jennifer McGhee and Bryan Aikens; an abundance of nieces, nephews, other loving relatives, co-workers, and sorrowing friends.
