Latasha Lashay Miller McQuay
1971 – 2021

"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith: Henceforth there is laid up for me a crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, shall give me at that day: and not to me only, but unto all them also that love his appearing." II Timothy 4:7–8

Latasha Lashay Miller McQuay was the daughter of James Tyson and Linda Miller. She was a life-long resident of Madison, FL, and a 1989 graduate of Jefferson County High School in Monticello, FL. She met her forever love, Leon McQuay, whom she married in 1995. Together they raised their children in a loving environment.

Latasha had a special place in her heart for the young ones in her care. Whether they were her own children, grandchildren, nieces, and/or nephews, they were the main reasons she enjoyed childcare service. They loved being with her because her warmth and affection made them know she cared for them.

Her love for her family's well-being made Latasha's house into a home. She enjoyed cooking, and her specialty was soul food. To strengthen her faith and keep her uplifted spiritually, she enjoyed listening to Gospel music, but when she wanted to dance and have fun with the family, she chose R & B (including H-Town). Winding down from her daily routine, she also found enjoyment in watching the television series, "Little House on the Prairie".

During the past few months Latasha fought with her might to be here with her family, but on Sunday, January 17, 2021, Latasha slipped from earthly time to time eternal. Her faithful, earthly service is complete.

Forever cherishing her loving memory are her devoted husband: Leon McQuay, Sr., of Madison; adoring children: Leon McQuay, Jr., Delaina McQuay, Qua'Teshia (Torrey) Howard, and La'Tavia McQuay, all of Madison, FL; grandchildren: McKenzie McQuay, Taziah Latimer, Ke'shanti Reaves, Karter Reaves, JaQuez Arnold, Jr., Ma'Liyah Mitchell, and Rashee Mitchell, Jr.; parents: James Tyson and Linda Miller, both of Madison; siblings: Michael Miller of Lake City, FL, Anthony Miller of Madison, FL, and Debra (Ernest) Allen of Quincy, FL; and many other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
