Lavonnia Denise
Livingston Hatcher
September 12, 1974 – May 22, 2026
Lavonnia Denise Hatcher Livingston was born in Madison, Florida, on September 12, 1974. She was the beloved daughter of the late Isreal “Lightbread” Livingston, Jr. and Rutha Mae Demps. Affectionately known as “Denise,” she was raised in Greenville, Florida, where she developed the strong family values, loving spirit, and outgoing personality that would become hallmarks of her life. Though she later made Orlando, Florida, her home for more than twenty years, Greenville always remained close to her heart.
Denise embraced life with enthusiasm and joy. She was a people person who never met a stranger and had a special gift for making others feel welcome. Her laughter was contagious, her smile was unforgettable, and her presence could brighten any room. Family and friends knew her as someone who loved deeply, spoke honestly, and always offered encouragement when it was needed most.
Family was the center of Denise’s world. As the second child in her immediate household, she took her role as a big sister seriously and was fiercely protective of those she loved. On April 16, 2008, she united in holy matrimony with Joseph Hatcher, Jr., and together they built a loving marriage that flourished for seventeen years. Their greatest joy was their son, Skyler Hatcher, who was the pride of her life and the source of countless smiles.
Denise believed in the value of hard work and service to others. She faithfully dedicated more than twenty years of her life to the United States Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons, serving at the Coleman Federal Correctional Complex. She took great pride in her profession and developed lasting relationships with coworkers whom she considered family. Her compassion, wisdom, and willingness to listen made her a trusted confidant and friend to many.
Outside of her career, Denise enjoyed making memories with those she loved. She looked forward to attending concerts and comedy shows, taking cruises, traveling, listening to music, and spending time with family and friends. She especially enjoyed trips to the casino, where loved ones often joked that she had a special talent for winning. Wherever there was an opportunity to laugh, celebrate, or create a lasting memory, Denise was sure to be there.
Surrounded by the love of her family, Denise peacefully departed this life on Friday, May 22, 2026. While her physical presence will be deeply missed, the memories she created and the love she shared will remain forever in the hearts of those who knew and loved her.
