Obituary

Leonard "Kojak" Collins, Jr.
1975 – 2022
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." -Matthew 5:4

Leonard Collins, Jr., the son of Leonard Collins, Sr. and Dorothy Wilson, grew up among his family and friends in the Madison County community and remained a lifelong resident there. He was preceded in death by his wife: Tonya Gee; grandparents: Julia Jones Wilson, Rev. Archie Smith Wilson, Lula Mae Collins, and Thomas Collins; and his stepsister: Keesha Robinson.

Filling a void in his life, Leonard accepted Christ as his Savior and became a member of Cascade Missionary Baptist Church.

During his school days, Leonard acquired the nickname "Kojak" because of his personality and for a detective on a popular television series. It readily became the name everybody called him.

Kojak received his education in the Madison County School System. He chose to remain in the area among his family and friends. Afterwards, he was a reliable employee at Badcock & More.

Kojak loved his family and friends and enjoyed the fellowship and fun they shared. Everyone regarded him as the life of the party, and the one who enjoyed challenging others in card games. He was fun-loving but was also a quiet storm who did not care for unnecessary drama.

"It broke our hearts to lose you, but you didn't go alone. For part of us went with you, the day God called you home." On Sunday, August 28, 2022, Leonard "Kojak" Collins, Jr. was called to his eternal home to live forever.

Left to cherish Leonard "Kojak" Collins, Jr.'s memory and love are his son: Cilas Ivon Collins of Madison, Florida; parents: Dorothy Wilson of Madison, FL and Leonard (Melinda) Collins, Sr. of Boynton Beach, FL; brother: Brandon Collins of Orlando, FL; sisters: Jawanda Collins of Madison, FL and Erica Collins of Boynton Beach, FL; stepsisters: Shiea Thornton of Atlanta, GA, and Katreena Stewart of Boynton Beach, FL; nieces: Bre'Kolia Denson of Tallahassee, FL, Ayiana Kelly and Alexa Walters, both of Boynton Beach; nephews: Kendrick (Komesha) Collins, of Lake Worth, FL, Leonardo Collins of Tallahassee, FL and Darron Brown of Madison, FL; special friends: Willie Gallon, Jr., Chuck Arnold, Mark Mitchell, Travis Jay, Terrence Brown, Carneze Barfield, and Keith Smith; together with a host of other loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
