Mr. Leroy Robert Venzen
1943 – 2023
"The Lord is my shepherd; I shall not want." -Psalm 23:1
Mr. Leroy Robert Venzen, the son of Herbert Venzen and Iona Vincent Vanterpool, was born in New York on March 9, 1943. He lived there at the beginning of his life journey, but he relocated to Orlando, Florida, to begin a life of opportunities many years ago.
Loved ones who preceded him in death were his father: his son: Michael Venzen; brother: Antonio Vanterpool, Jr.; and sister: Eva Martin.
Leroy believed in the Lord Jesus Christ and accepted Him as his Savior. He was a member of the Church of God – Washington Park.
Leroy was a man of many talents; he was reliable and diligent in completing the tasks he accepted. Those who knew him best regarded him as "a jack-of-all-trades and a master of one" … roofing. Not only was he a skilled roofer, but he was also a "Mr. Fix-it", for he was also an excellent repairman, and farmer of a small goat herd that earned him the nickname, "Goat Man".
Leroy's treasured pastime activities included his traveling with family to other many places, listening to music, and unwinding with drinks after his busy day.
On Wednesday, June 14, 2023, Leroy Robert Venzen's life journey came to an end as he quietly transitioned from labor to rest eternally with the Lord. Faith gives his loved ones hope in knowing they will meet again one day.
Leroy Robert Venzen blessed his family and friends with his love, life, and his legacy. He is gone from their sight but never from the hearts of his loving and devoted wife of 48 years: Cecily Venzen; sons: Linus Venzen and Ronald McNicholls; daughter: Lakeisha (Mario) Duncombe; mother: Iona Vincent Vanterpool; brother: Herbert Venzen of Queens, NY; sisters: Bernice Roy of St. Thomas, US -Virgin Islands; Phyllis Foy of Hialeah, FL, and Beona Williams of Rookwood, NY; 27 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; along with many other loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
