Mablene Smith
SEPTEMBER 27, 1958 - MARCH 7, 2025
Mablene Smith, born on September 27, 1958, in Pinesville, Kentucky, was the cherished daughter of Wiley C. Smith, Sr. and Clestaner Boothe. Mablene's life was a testament to love, joy, and a deep connection with her family and faith.
Mablene was a woman of immense warmth, known for her joyful spirit and the ability to bring light into any room she entered. She was deeply devoted to her family and always ensured they felt loved, cared for, and cherished. Her love for life was evident in everything she did. Mablene loved to cook, clean, and make a home filled with warmth and laughter. She worked at UF Health Jacksonville for nearly 15 years, where her caring nature and tireless work ethic left a lasting impact on everyone she encountered.
In her personal life, Mablene enjoyed the simple pleasures that brought her peace. She loved fishing, dancing to music, and nurturing her plants. These passions, along with her deep affection for her family, brought her joy and fulfillment throughout her life. Mablene was a woman of faith, and her trust in the Lord was a guiding light in her life. On Friday, March 7, 2025 – Mablene found comfort in the beautiful words of Psalm 23 ("The Lord is my shepherd!") and exchanged time for eternity to live forever with her Heavenly Father.
She is survived by her son: Rodney Fisher, Jr.; daughter: Roxanne (Javan) McBride; 21 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; brother: Davis (Mary) Boothe; sisters: Willie Mae Smith (Johnnie) Fields, Leslie Lucas, and Jimmie Helen (Omerest) Allen; aunts: Rosa Lee Harris and Mary Dean Williams; sisters-in-law: Beverly Smith and Wonza Smith; and a host of other relatives and friends who will forever carry her love in their hearts.
Mablene was preceded in death by her father, Wiley C. Smith, Sr.; mother, Clestaner Boothe; sons, Glenton Fields and James Smith; brothers, Henry Smith, Henry Beard, Jr. and Wiley Cal Smith, Jr., and sister, Mary Margaret Boothe.
"Surely goodness and mercy shall follow Mablene all the days of her life: as she now dwells in the house of the Lord forever."
