Mary Catherine Edwards Collins
"Kitty"
March 1, 1953 – September 16, 2025
"And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again and receive you unto Myself, that where I am, there you may be also." ~John 14:3
Mary Catherine Edwards Collins, the beloved daughter of Eddie "Buddy" and Mary Edwards, was born in Madison, Florida, on March 1, 1953. Because she shared her mother's first name, she was affectionately known as "Kitty". In her humbleness, she possessed a gentle spirit that allowed the light of God to shine through. An example of God's love and grace, she was always happy, and her smile always lifted the spirit of those in her presence.
Kitty accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and became a faithful member and servant of Mt. Olive Primitive Baptist Church in Madison, Florida. Her love for the Lord was evident in her kind-hearted spirit and the overflow of love she shared with everyone she encountered. For many years, she joyfully and faithfully served as a doorkeeper on the Usher Board. However, during the time she lived in Houston, Texas, she worshipped and served as Mother of the Church at Kingdom Bound Community Church where her son, Apostle Curtis Collins, Jr. is the Senior Pastor.
After Kitty graduated from Madison High School in 1972, she chose to begin her employment career at Gold Kist (currently Pilgrim's Pride) in Live Oak, Florida. She and Curtis Sr. were later united in holy matrimony. God continued to bless them by making them Godly parents of their two sons.
Kitty treasured life and loved her family. After her retirement, she enjoyed traveling, especially to Texas. She was then able to spend more time with them, for her love for them is priceless.
Those who touch our lives, stay in our hearts forever. On Tuesday, September 16, 2025, Mary Catherine Edwards Collins, was called to her heavenly home to be at rest with the Lord. Well done, good and faithful servant.
T he precious memory of Mary Catherine Edwards Collins, our "Kitty", will forever remain in her loved ones' hearts. She leaves behind a legacy of love, devotion, and faithfulness that will continue to inspire and uplift all whose lives she touched.
