Mary W. Ivory Washington, daughter of John Thomas and Mary Ivory Thomas, entered the world on February 5, 1955, in Jacksonville, Florida. She was a lifelong resident of the area.
Mary was preceded in death by her father: John Thomas; sisters: Linda Limbric and Brenda Ivory; brother: John Ivory; grandson: Leandrew Nicholas Mills; and dearest friend: Joe Singleton.
Having accepted Jesus Christ as her personal Savior, Mary was forever devoted in her love for the Lord and demonstrated her sincere and obedient walk with Him. Mary lived her Christian experience daily through her interaction with others. She had an unforgettable presence with her beautiful smile and heart of gold. She had such magnetism that people were attracted to the goodness of God that reflected within her. She was an amazing woman who was loved and admired because of the impression she made on the lives of those she encountered and impacted in a more excellent way.
In addition to her amazing thirty-four year career at Blue Cross Blue Shield of Florida, Mary was also an accomplished seamstress who was highly sought after by individuals around the city of Jacksonville. She was dedicated to giving her best effort in all that she did.
Mary was also known for her dazzling, well-manicured fingernails, her impeccable sense of style, matched only with the grace and poise that was uniquely hers.
Mary W. Ivory Washington fought the good fight of faith with breakthrough blessings. "When this life is over, I'll fly away." She had a first class final flight "to her new home on God's celestial shore, where joy shall never end" on Saturday, April 29, 2023. She now has the victory!
Celebrating Mrs. Mary W. Ivory Washington's life is the truest testimony of her love, life, and legacy. While she is gone from their presence, she will never depart from the hearts of all who love her. Cherishing her precious memories are: her devoted husband: Clarence Washington; adorable daughters: Nicole (James) Stallings-Banks and Lynessia (Alphonse) Stallings; dearest granddaughter: Anisa Nicole Honore (who affectionately called her grandmother "Honey"); beloved mother: Mary Ivory Thomas; loving brothers: James (Joy) Ivory, Leon (Dora) Ivory, Edward (Cynthia) Ivory, Leonard (Jackie) Ivory, Keith Thomas, and Kevin Thomas; together with many other sorrowing relatives, and countless other loving friends.
