IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Minister Rupert
"Bennie" Samuels
August 14, 1957 – March 25, 2023
Minister Rupert "Bennie" Alphonzo Samuels
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith." -II Timothy 4:7
Minister Rupert "Bennie" Alphonzo Samuels brightened the lives of his parents, Clarence Mobley and Annie Samuels, and his older siblings on the day of his birth, August 14, 1957. He was a lifelong resident of Madison, Florida.
Minister Samuels was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Carolyn Mobley Macklin; bonus father-in-law, Isaiah Humphrey, Sr.; bonus sisters-in-law, Victoria Humphrey, Janet Jones, and Betty Ann Aikens; and bonus brothers-in-law, Alvin Humphrey and Isaiah Humphrey, Jr.
Early in his life, Minister Samuels accepted Christ as his Redeemer and began his work for the Lord. Under the pastoral leadership of Pastors Mark Crutcher and Freddie Glenn, respectively, he accepted his call into the ministry. He put his faith into action and volunteered for the Madison Correction Institution (MCI) Prison Ministry. He was also the local president for the Mt. Nebo African Methodist Episcopal Church Sons of Allen (boys-to-men mentorship) component.
Minister Samuels demonstrated his love for the Lord by the life that he lived. He was a compassionate person who had a humble spirit and a kind heart. He was a loving husband, good father for his bonus family, and friend to all.
Minister Samuels was a graduate of Madison High School. He later enlisted in the United States Army and served his country honorably. He then gave his dedicated and untiring service at Gold Kist / Pilgrim's Pride Poultry processing plant until his health failed.
Some of Minister Samuels special interests included his passion for detailing cars, enjoying music, and dressing nicely.
As a servant of the most high God, Minister Rupert "Bennie" Alphonzo Samuels' faith was strong and secure in the Lord. However, on Saturday, March 25, 2023, he took off his robe of mortality and replaced it with the robe of immortality.
Gone from their sight but never from their hearts, those whose lives have been greatly impacted by this awesome man of God include: his loving wife, Evangelist Patricia Samuels; bonus sons, Darren (Rainey) Lewis, Anthony (Adrienne) Simpo, Byran Williams, and Bryce Swilley; bonus daughters: Lakessa (Wayland) Croskey, Britney Davis, and Brianca Swilley; brother: Amos Tice; sister: Diane Tice; nephew: David Tice; mothers-in-law: Carrie Alexander and Jeanette Humphrey; brothers-in-law: Barry (Diane) Simpo, John (Shirley) Simpo, and Roosevelt (Latresa) Humphrey; bonus sisters-in-law: Patricia Williams, Rose (George) White, and Dorothy Brinson, and Judy (James) Humphrey; eleven grandchildren; best friends: Vicki Johnson and Patricia Cain; three god-daughters; the Mt.
