IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Minnie Joyce
Garner Hamilton
December 5, 1948 – December 25, 2025
SISTER MINNIE JOYCE GARNER HAMILTON"Weep if You Must But Weep Not as Those Who Have No Hope, For in Christ Jesus, There Is Hope and Eternal Life" 1 Thessalonians 4: 13-14
Sister Minnie Joyce Garner Hamilton, the beloved daughter of Eugene McCray and Ruby Garner, was born on December 5, 1948. Growing up in Perry (Taylor County), Florida, she earned her high school diploma as a proud 1968 graduate of Jerkins High School.
Earlier in her life, Minnie expressed a personal confession of her belief in Jesus Christ. After her baptism by faith, she became a member of New Mt. Zion Missionary Baptist Church and advanced her service to the Lord in a more excellent way by means of her commitment. She was a faithful lifelong member there.
One of Minnie's passions was preparing tasty, down-home foods. She was known for her enticing soul food dishes, Kool-Aid, and sweet tea. Her natural talent for cooking was perfected in the culinary positions she held at Pouncey's, Georgia Pacific, and Fusion (Cafes and Restaurants).
Each school year, Minnie looked forward to the football and basketball seasons for the Taylor County Middle School Bulldogs and the Taylor County High School Dawgs because her presence in the stands was expected. After all, she was a #1 supporter of these teams. She was equally passionate about the Florida Gators. Regardless of the school level, she was "orange and blue" all the way!
At the close of her life journey on Christmas morning, December 25, 2025, Sister Minnie Joyce Garner Hamilton heard the Master whisper her name. Then, in a twinkling of an eye, she transitioned from earthly labor to receive her heavenly reward. She has peacefully found rest beyond the River.
Cherishing the love and precious memories of Sister Minnie Joyce Garner Hamilton are her husband: Edward Hamilton, Sr.; children: Alton Diggs, Broderick Dixon, and Bionca Hamilton; siblings: James Garner, Elizabeth Whetsel, Priscillia (Alphonso) Ellison, John Garner, Rosalind Johnson, and Rhonda (Marion) Allen; along with a host of grandchildren, great-grandchildren; and goddaughter: Latesha Pigford; along with many other sorrowful relatives, supportive friends, and caring neighbors.
Preceding Sister Minnie Joyce Garner Hamilton in death were her brothers: Fred James, Jerry Clayton, Dwayne Johnson, and Jeffrey Garner.
