Miranda Denise Edwards Washington
"RON"
1964 - 2022
"Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, it is well, it is well with my soul"
Miranda Denise Edwards Washington, the eldest child of Archie Edwards, Jr. and Janie Jackson Edwards, was welcomed into the world on August 17, 1964. She resided in Madison, Florida. Preceding her in death was her father; maternal grandparents: Lillie B. Jackson and James Jackson, Sr.; paternal grandparents: Lizzie Ware and Peter Ware.
Miranda was a 1982 graduate of Madison County High School. She continued her educational experience at North Florida Community College, earning her Associates of Arts degree before her enrollment at Valdosta State University to receive her Bachelor of Arts degree in music. Because her world revolved around music, she used her talent as a vocal and piano teacher. She was asked to play the piano for a few churches in the community as early as age 8. However, she later became one of the pianists at Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church – Madison, assisting with the choirs, Annual Christmas Cantata and other special programs and activities, which ultimately awarded her the position, Minister of Music. Great is thy faithfulness!
In addition to her passion for music, Miranda also used her time and talent to form her own transportation ministry so she could drive some of her senior citizen friends and anyone else who needed a ride to their appointments or to take care of their personal business. Either way, they all loved the door-to-door service, camaraderie, but most of all, the outings.
Miranda loved her family and she also enjoyed cooking. She prepared dishes to share and to have another opportunity to spend with them. Before the Covid pandemic, she enjoyed shopping/ browsing or just walking around the mall with them.
"When Christ shall come, with shout of acclamation and take me home, what joy shall fill my heart." Miranda bowed in humble adoration as she entered eternal rest on April 4, 2022.
Cherishing her life, legacy, and love are her loving daughter: Gianna Washington; mother: Janie Jackson Edwards; sister: Demetra Edwards; brother: Archie Edwards, III; special niece: Ketayvia Edwards; best friends: LaFrenchie (Stanley) McCreary and Genice (Edgar) Burch; step-children, she loved as her own: Tori (Marcus) Washington, Hakili Washington, and Mario Washington; along with a host of loving relatives and sorrowing friends.
