Mother Climmie Johnson Hudson
"If I Can Help Somebody as I Pass Along, Then My Living Shall Not Be in Vain"
CLIMMIE JOHNSON HUDSON , the loving daughter of Ernest Johnson, Sr. and Fibbie Jones Johnson, was born on March 7, 1933, in Madison, Florida. She was affectionately known as "Cootie" by family and close friends, while most of the community knew her as Clementine. She was the family's matriarch, and the last member of her generation to cross over the glorious shore. She was a lifelong resident of the Georgetown community in Madison.
Loved ones who preceded Mother Climmie in death were both parents; her loving husband of 64 years, T.C. Hudson; brothers: David Johnson, Sr. and Ernest Johnson, Jr.; sisters: Florida Johnson, Ella Williams, Corrine Jackson, Carrie Williams, Sarah Williams, and Fibbie Lee Swilley.
From an early age, Mother Climmie learned the importance of having and keeping God first in her life. She accepted Him as her Redeemer, was baptized by faith, and became a member of St. James Missionary Baptist Church where she joyfully dedicated her life for His service. Using her God-given talent and her love for cooking, Mother Climmie willingly accepted the responsibility as chairperson of the culinary committee. She also served in other areas whenever she was needed. As she approached her golden age, she was recognized for her many years as a faithful servant leader and was bestowed the deserved honor of Church Mother.
Mrs. Clementine had come this far by faith, leaning on the Lord. Her love for Him was also evident in her interaction with others. She was a people person. With her infectious smile, she shared wise counsel and had mutual respect for all. She loved her family and devoted special time to them. Likewise, she was always personable with her neighbors and customers of all ages who shopped at Hudson Cash & Carry, the community convenience store.
Mother Climmie loved to shop and had a flair for her dress-to-the-nines elegance. She always complimented her attire with eye catching accessories and uniquely beautiful hats which equaled that of British Royalty.
For her pastime enjoyment, Mrs. Clementine used her green thumb and loving care in growing beautiful flowers and plants. However, when she settled down for the day, she enjoyed watching episodes of "Walker, Texas Ranger." The Lord chose Wednesday, August 9, 2023, the date for his faithful servant to join the heavenly host around His glorious throne. Because Mother Climmie lived to die only to live again, she gently closed her eyes, crossed from this walk of life, and entered eternal glory.
Those who hold close to their hearts Mother Climmie Johnson Hudson's endless love and everlasting memories which bind them together as family are her loving and devoted daughter: Shirley Hudson Williams of Tallahassee, FL; nephew raised as a son: Hon. Alfred Martin of Madison, FL; Bonus son: Tyrone (Dorothy) Jackson of Jacksonville, FL; devoted grandchildren: Brandon Williams and Brandi Danielle Williams, both of Tallahassee, FL; sisters-in-law: Classie McKenzie of Plant City, FL and Doris Joseph of Tallahassee, FL; numerous sorrowing nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, along with many compassionate and loving friends and neighbors.
