Mother Beulah Pursley Cooper
"Shorty"
JANUARY 23, 1951 – AUGUST 27, 2024
"..I am the resurrection and the life: he that believeth in me,
though he were dead, yet shall he live:" ~ John 11:25

Mother Beulah Pursley Cooper, the daughter of James Pursley, Sr. and Luella McGhee Pursley, was born on January 23, 1951 in Madison, Florida. As the years progressed, she became the big sister in their family of five brothers and three sisters who affectionately called her "Shorty." She was a lifelong resident of Madison, Florida.

Beulah loved Jesus Christ and made a personal confession of her belief in Him. She allowed her love for Him to reflect in the joy she felt, and the radiance of her smile she loved to capture in photos. Her faith was strong and secure in the Lord. Beulah was a faithful member of Emmanuel Temple Holiness Church, where she was consecrated and served as Mother of the church.

Beulah's life reflected countless lessons she learned from her nurturing village of supporters, encouragers, and mentors at home, church, school, and community. Having learned early in life the value of a work ethic, Beulah was very dependable. She was employed for 27 years as Custodian for the Madison County School District.

Away from the job, Beulah found joy, patience, and peace of mind in her favorite pastime activities. She loved being outdoors growing vegetables, flowers, and plants. On the other hand, life was much better when she had her fishing pole in her hand. She frequently went to her favorite fishing locations to cast lines, to make memories, and to share her catch of the day.

Because Beulah loved to travel and was always ready for adventure, she did not hesitate to remind those who were slowing around about "rolling!"

Mother Cooper unconditionally loved her family, valued her friends, and treasured life itself. However, Tuesday, August 27, 2024, was the day she began her eternal celebration with the Lord. She is gone from her loved ones' sight but will never depart from their hearts.

Mother Beulah Mae Pursley Cooper blessed her loved ones' lives with her life, her legacy, and her love. Someone so special can never be forgotten. Forever cherishing her loving memory are her sisters: Pastor Jerry (Elder Clyde) Miller of Greenville, FL and Minister Patricia (Pastor Terry) Johnson of Madison, FL; brother: Elder Marco (Debbie) Pursley of Tampa, FL; a host of loving nieces and nephews; along with countless other sorrowing relatives and compassionate friends.

Loved ones who preceded Beulah in death were her beloved parents; husband: Johnny Cooper; brothers: James Pursley, Jr., George Pursley, Kenneth Pursley, and Robert Pursley; and sister: Eula Mae Pursley Christian.
