Obituary

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." -2 Timothy 4:7

Mother Inez Wells Robinson was a beloved mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin, friend, and "village mother". The daughter of Jacob Wells, Sr. and Maude Davis Wells, Mother Inez was born on February 5, 1940, in Madison, Florida, where she remained a lifelong resident. During her youth, her parents taught their children the importance of loving family, loving others but most of all, loving God and keeping Him foremost in their lives.

Preceding Mother Robinson in death were her parents; and siblings: Jacob Wells, Jr., Wallace Stacey, Lizzie Mae Marshall, Sallie Mae Graham, Verlee Wells, Doris Simpson, and Dorothy Wells and most recently, her son-in-law: James McCray.

Mother Robinson accepted Christ as her Redeemer many years ago and joined Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church of Madison. As a youth, she began her Christian duty as an Allen Stars usher and as an adult, she continued giving her service wherever she was needed.

Mother Inez had a very special place in heart for children. Not only did she apply godly wisdom and guidance in raising her own children, but she embraced others in the community as well. She made every child a better person because of her love, generosity, and kindness which impacted their lives in such meaningful, unforgettable ways.

The joy of the Lord was Mother Robinson's strength, for it was evident in all that she did. Her joy of cooking yielded delicious meals that were always more than enough to share with whoever stopped by. Likewise, her joy for growing flowers and plants beautified her house and yard. Her most rewarding joy, however, was her mission of loving and caring for the elderly. When she was unable to visit, she reached out to them by writing letters which allowed them to know that they held a special place in her heart. Finally, Mother Inez showed her heartfelt joy and love for her children whenever she interacted with them in fun activities such as joining them in playing basketball and baseball.

According to God's divine plan, Mother Inez Wells Robinson's work on earth was done. She knew the Lord did not bring her this far to leave her. Her untiring faith in Him taught her that there will be no pain, just everlasting joy in heaven. Therefore, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022, she readily answered the Master's call and was welcomed to join the gathering of the Saints. Life's race, well run; life's battle, well won.

Cherishing her memory with the hope that they, too, will be with her again are her loving children: Patrick Bernard (Lana) Wells of Columbia, SC, Howard L. Robinson, Fitzgerald B. Robinson, Sandra McCray, Edith (Johnnie) Pride, all of Madison, FL, Danny (Mary) Robinson of Valdosta, GA, and Inez Cherie (Van) Wilson of Tallahassee, FL; siblings: Willie (Kathy) Wells of Lockport, IL, Edith (Tommie) Swilley; nieces raised as sisters: Leatha (Herman) Gervin, and Willie Mae Wells, all of Madison, FL; seventeen grandchildren; twenty-five great grandchildren; six great-great grandchildren; one great-great-great grandchild; along with many other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
