Life Reflections
Mr. Nathaniel Alexander, Sr.
1939 - 2021

Brother Nathaniel Alexander, Sr., 81, a lifelong resident of Madison, Florida, answered his heavenly Father's call to join the caravan of saints on Wednesday, July 28, 2021. He was preceded in death by his parents: Jimmy Alexander, Sr. and Mary Robinson Thomas; brothers: James Alexander, Albert Alexander, William Alexander, TJ Alexander, and Jimmy Alexander, Jr.; a daughter, Janice Alexander; and a great-grandson: Daniel Smith.

Brother Alexander grew up with his brothers on a farm where they all learned the true meaning of hard work. is provided them with valuable life lessons and skills that benefitted them throughout their careers. In additional to working on the farm, Brother Nathaniel also was a truck driver for Gold Kist poultry plant as well as with the logging/pulpwood industry for a combined total of 38 years. He also repaired cars and trucks (before engines were computerized) as well as major and minor home repairs.

During his time away from the job, Brother Nathaniel enjoyed cooking, and chicken perlau (chicken and rice) slow cooked in a large pot on the outside was one of his specialty dishes. He was an excellent chef who knew his way around the kitchen, but the family unanimously declared that he was definitely the "Grill Master" of the delicious meats he always grilled to perfection.

Overalls, T-shirts, cowboy boots and cowboy hat were Brother Nathaniel's signature attire when he prepared for his daily activities. However, at the end of a busy day, he enjoyed watching many syndicated television shows such as The Three Stooges, Sanford and Son, and Gunsmoke, as well as other westerns. He also enjoyed WWE Smackdown and e Have and the Have Nots. Aside from television, he loved to use CB language and to use 10 code expressions with his CB handle, "Running Bear."

Brother Alexander loved the Lord and loved to pray. He accepted Him as his Savior 71 years ago and continued to serve Him and share the Good Word. He was a member of High Antioch African Methodist Episcopal Church in Cherry Lake, FL and was a member of the Usher Board. Brother Nathaniel also loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He really enjoyed the family times that the generations spent together sharing memories.

Brother Nathaniel Alexander, Sr. willingly accepted his heavenly Father's call from labor to reward. His love and legacy will continue to live in the hearts of all who knew him.
