Sister Nellean Wilson Griffin
December 15, 1945 – October 23, 2024
"Auntie Pop" I "Ma Griffin"
"Father, I Stretch My Hands to Thee, No Other Help I Know"

Sister Nellean Wilson Griffin, the daughter of Simon Wilson, Sr. and Floretta Bethea Wilson, was born on December 15, 1945. She was a lifelong resident of Perry, Florida.

Early in her life, Nellean accepted Christ as her Savior at New Jerusalem Primitive Baptist Church, where her parents were founding members. She later joined Mt. Olive Missionary Baptist Church where she was a faithful tenor in the choir. However, when her health declined, she continued to guide the choir (if needed) from her pew.

Nellean was educated at Jerkins High School and North Florida Community College. She retired with 15 years of dedicated service as a corrections officer from the Florida Department of Corrections.

Blessed with eternal life are those who believe in Christ. Sister Nellean Wilson Griffin quietly transitioned from her labor to enter the glory of the Lord and to rest forever with Him on Wednesday, October 23, 2024. It is well with her soul.

Reuniting with beloved ones who preceded Sister Nellean Wilson Griffin in death were her parents: Simon Wilson and Floretta Bethea Wilson; brother: Simon Wilson, Jr.; and sisters: Ella Mae Prince and Glorious Arnold; and granddaughter: Demica Jones.

Sister Nellean Wilson Griffin left a sweet sustaining memory in her loved ones' hearts. Her love, life, and legacy will forever be embedded in their hearts and spirits. Those who will miss her until they meet again are her sons: Alex J. (Ronette) Griffin, Jr. of Havana, FL, Terry Griffin, and Gary (Rosetta) Griffin, all of Perry, FL; daughters: Adrienne (Samuel) Griffin- Jones of Tampa, FL and Janet (Earl Sr.) Griffin Cobb of Perry, FL; a special daughter-in-love: Lesa Griffin; grandchildren: Terry C.
