Life and Legacy of 
Reverend Antonio D’Andre Jackson

Antonio D’Andre Jackson was born to the late John Jackson, Jr. and Alma Joyce Hall Jackson on August 26, 1968, in Tallahassee, Florida.

Tony was educated in the Public Schools of Leon County and was a 1986 graduate of James S. Rickards High School. He was an avid sportsman. He was a member of the football, soccer, and baseball teams while in high school, but his favorite sport was baseball. His love for baseball started at the age of five and continued into adulthood. As an adult, he was a member of the New Image baseball team. He received his Bachelor of Science in Public Administration in 2002 and his Master of Applied Social Sciences in 2004, both from Florida A&M University.

Tony received Christ at an early age. He began his Christian journey at his family church, Shiloh Apostolic Faith Church, under the leadership of his great-grandfather, Bishop J. C. Henderson, and his grandmother, Elder Edith W. Hall, where he ascended to the role of a Deacon. He later joined New Mt. Zion AME Church under the leadership of Pastor Anton Elwood, Sr. During his Christian journey at New Mt. Zion, he worked diligently as the Sunday School Van driver and a member of the Male Chorus, before answering the call into ministry. He began his pastoral assignment at Mt. Zion AME Church in Lloyd, Florida, in 2018, where he remained until his passing.

In 1987, Tony began his career with the City of Tallahassee as a Coach Service Attendant with StarMetro (formerly Taltran); in 1988, he started working with the Utilities Department as a Meter Reader, Meter Reader Supervisor, Meter Services Supervisor, and, at the time of his death, Customer Operations Field Services Administrator. He also served as an Adjunct Professor of History and Political Science from 2010–2015 at Florida A&M University.

In June of 2012, he was joined in Holy Matrimony to Jeanette Freeman.

Tony was loved and respected by all he met—family, friends, and co-workers. He was a devoted family man. He especially loved the family gatherings at his Grandma Edith’s house every Sunday, holidays, and just because.

He leaves to cherish his memory, his loving and devoted wife, Jeanette Jackson; mother, Alma J. Hall Jackson; children, Latonia Jackson, Xavaion Jackson, Keon Jackson, Toni Jackson, and Javaughn Rollins-Jackson; sister, Elder Tamara Jackson James (Carlton, Sr.); bonus daughter, Zeyana Smith; grandson, Tahj Smith; nephew, Carlton James, Jr.; aunts, Catherine Jackson (Melvin) McClary, Andrea Hall Spencer, Gail Jackson, R. Jean Hall, and Twana Hall; uncle, Kenneth Hall; special cousins, Monique Frazier (Jeff) Walker, Karoncia Hall, Tiana McGlockton, Anton Spencer, Kevin Hall, and Ashari Spencer (Antwan) Brooks; mother-in-law, Delores Freeman; brother-in-law, Adrian Freeman; godmother, Sandra Rooks; godfather, Frank Williams; along with a host of relatives and sorrowing friends.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Jackson, Jr.; grandparents, Cleotha and Edith Hall, John, Sr. and Lula Jackson; aunts, Altameas Hall McGlockton, G. Jean Hall Frazier, and Joyce Jackson Morgan.
