“Weep if you must, Jesus Wept. But weep not as those who have no hope, for in Christ Jesus, there is hope and eternal life.” – 1 Thessalonians 4:13-14

On Tuesday, May 5, 2026, God Almight summoned Brother Roosevelt (Kojak) Arnold, Sr., home for eternal rest. He is now resting in the arms of his Lord and Savior.

Roosevelt Arnold, Sr., was born on August 1, 1946, in Monticello, Jefferson County, Florida. He was the third son of Ed Arnold and Rebecca Noble Arnold. Roosevelt’s parents; his son, Anthony Arnold; daughter, Tabitha Arnold; sisters, Mamie Arnold and Etoy Arnold; brothers, Woodrow Arnold (Odesa), Eddie Arnold (Enrestine), and Freddie Arnold (Eater), all preceded him in death.

Roosevelt attended the Greenville public schools of Madison County. He graduated from Greenville Training School of Madison County in the year of 1965. Upon graduation, he enlisted in the United States Army where he honorably and faithfully served his country. He had many other job opportunities, but most of all, he loved and enjoyed having his own business, Kojak and Sons Lawn Care Service. Kojak enjoyed the outdoors and had the greatest green thumb when it came to growing plants and flowers. He would plant a seed anywhere he could find a small spot where there was dirt.

He confessed Christ as his Lord and Savior under the Reverend James Bobby Duval and joined Shiloh Missionary Baptist Church in Greenville, Florida.

Kojak loved and cherished his family and had unwavering love for them, especially his children, the pride he had when spending time with them.

He was truly devoted to keeping his family together. He always supported family gatherings. These were his best times. The time when it was all about his younger generation of great-nieces and nephews, teaching, showing, and advising them about the Kojak legacy.

Kojak was loved by everyone and never met a stranger, always extending a helping hand whenever he could to someone in need.

Kojak was a die-hard Seminoles fan. He had nothing but love for FSU Seminoles.

It breaks our heart to let you go, but you are not going alone for a part of us is going with you.

Kojak’s love and legacy will live on forever in the hearts of his sons, Roosevelt Arnold, Jr., of Tallahassee, Florida, Ronterious Arnold of Obeecha, Florida, Denny and Tameisha Arnold of Madison, Florida, Mike Baker of Louisville, Kentucky; daughters, Maria Arnold (John) of Louisville, Kentucky, Laquetta Arnold of Tampa, Florida, Fiero Arnold (Orient) of Greenville, Florida, Letisha Fead of Monticello, Florida, and Tikeosha Arnold of Madison, Florida; 34 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren; sisters, Susie Jay, Beaulh and James Livingston, and Jane Arnold, all of Greenville, Florida; two bonus brothers, Willie Joe and Mary Williams of Newport News, Virginia, and Nathaniel and Mae Ghents of Valdosta, Georgia; one sister-in-law, Nadine and Robert Williams of Greenville, Florida; two brothers-in-law, Henry and Carolyn Livingston of Greenville, Florida, and James and Beaulh Livingston of Greenville, Florida; special devoted caretaker, Niece Angie Thompkins of Tallahassee, Florida; devoted nephew, Jabar Miller of Greenville, Florida; and nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

“Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for thou art with me.”
- Psalm 23:4
