IN LOVING MEMORY OF
Susie Ann
Phillips Johnson
December 21, 1942 – August 20, 2020
Susie Ann Phillips Johnson was born in Quitman (Brooks County), Georgia. She was born December 21, 1942, to Leroy Thomas and Lillie Bell Phillips, both who have preceded Susie to Glory. Susie's first-born child, Tommie Lee Phillips, also preceded her in death
Lovingly known to many of her family and friends as "Ann," Susie moved to Madison, Florida, over 50 years ago. She received her formal education in the public schools of Brooks County. She moved to Madison County with her mother and sister, settling in Cherry Lake. They remained there until moving into Madison during the early 1970's. Over the years, Ann worked an array of jobs, most notably at Tank N' Tummy, Goldkist, and O'Neal's Family Buffet. During her leisure, she enjoyed sewing, cooking, crocheting, fishing, and watching the television program, "The Golden Girls." Ann took great pride in each of her children. Her son, Larry, emerged as the leader of flock and over the years, unwittingly inherited the role of being the patriarch to his siblings, nieces, and nephews; Larry was that child that Ann always looked to for clarity and direction; he enjoyed his role and so did his siblings.
Anchored in the Lord, Sister Ann confessed Christ as her Lord and Savior many years ago. She served faithfully as a member of several local churches. Most recently, she was a member of Grace Temple Outreach Ministries of Gainesville, where Pastor Rondy Mathis, who is Ann's daughter, Angela's husband.
