Deacon Tommy Lee Arnold, Jr.
OCTOBER 30, 1968 – JULY 20, 2024
"JUNE BUG" | "LOOK-OUT"
"... To be absent from the body, and to be present with the Lord." ~ 2 Corinthians 5:8
Deacon Tommy Lee Arnold, Jr. began the first chapter of his life on October 30, 1968. He was a welcome addition and the first blessing that Tommy Lee Arnold, Sr. and Leola Dobson Arnold experienced as parents. Young Tommy was nurtured in their loving home and close-knit community where morals and values were taught and honored. He was affectionately known as "June Bug" by his village and "Look-Out" by others. Tommy was a resident of Orlando, Florida.
A cheerful person, "June Bug" connected well with others, especially with his infectious laughter. He loved his family and cherished the special (weekend, holiday, or "just because") times they had together. He always made these occasions complete by sharing his mouth-watering cooking and his specialty grilling.
Anyone who encountered Tommy immediately found out that he was a #1 Florida Gator football fan. "Look-Out" analyzed each play and call for every game he watched.
Tommy began his strong spiritual foundation at Architillery Missionary Baptist Church guided by the church officers and with the encouragement of the late Reverend James C. Miller. After he relocated with his family to Orlando, Florida, the Holy Spirit led them to become members of Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church. He gave his service in a more excellent way with his active involvement as an usher and in other capacities which later positioned him to be chosen as a deacon.
After he graduated with the Class of 1986 from Madison County High School, Tommy chose a career path which led him to consider employment options. He was a team player who willingly sought different jobs. He worked in security, and drove trucks for Pepsi, before he became Sergeant for the Florida Department of Corrections.
Death is the last chapter in time but the first chapter in eternity. On Saturday, July 20, 2024, Deacon Tommy Lee Arnold, Jr. concluded his final earthly chapter and began his everlasting chapter in eternity.
Deacon Tommy Lee Arnold, Jr. left an unforgettable impression and forever love for his family, friends, and co-workers. His sustaining memory will reside forever in the hearts of all who knew him. Among these are his loving and devoted wife: Kayla Manns-Arnold of Orlando, FL; parents: Tommy Lee Arnold, Sr. and Leola Dobson Arnold, both of Madison, FL; sons: Tommy Lee Arnold III of Live Oak, FL and Ky'yan Arnold of Orlando, FL; daughter: Alesha (Prince) McGhee of Quitman, GA; goddaughter: Tianna Williams of Tallahassee, FL; sister: Pamela (Kevin) Walker of Madison, FL; four grandchildren; and countless other sorrowing relatives, caring friends, concerned co-workers, and his loving Mt. Herman Missionary Baptist Church family. Tommy was preceded in death by his baby sister, Tammy Arnold.
