Ms. Toneika Michelle Footman
1976 – 2022
"Blessed are those who mourn, for they will be comforted." ~ Matthew 5:4
Toneika Michelle Footman was born on May 12, 1976, to Wilbert Footman, Sr. and Debra Ling. She and her siblings grew up in the Leon County community during her early years but she relocated to Madison County many years ago.
Toneika was educated in the Leon County School District. Afterwards, she began her employment career and worked in local food industries - Dixie Packers, Food Giant, Red Onion Grill, and McDonald's. She was a dedicated worker with a great work ethic as well as a great provider for her family.
Earlier in her life, Toneika accepted Christ as her Savior with joyfulness. However, the ultimate "joy that she had, the world didn't give it and the world couldn't take it away". Known for her kind and generous spirit, Toneika showed her love and expressed her concern for mankind. She always had a radiant smile that warmed the hearts of all she encountered.
Toneika dearly loved her family and enjoyed spending quality time with them. She shared a special bond with her daughters, Tsanani and Shiante', and her granddaughters, but her mother-son relationship with Patrick was beyond compare. Toneika also loved her extended family and looked forward to the good times they had together as well.
At the end of her busy day, Toneika typically settled down to enjoy reading, listening to music, talking on the phone, or watching her television favorites: "In the Heat of the Night", "Power", and any other movie mysteries.
Toneika Michelle Footman's legacy of love, goodwill, strength, faith, and most of all, family will be embedded in the hearts of everyone whose lives she impacted. She peacefully entered eternal glory and was ushered into the presence of the Holy Spirit on Friday, June 24, 2022.
Mourning Toneika's passing while cherishing her precious memory are her precious children: Tsanani Hampton, Patrick Hampton, and Shiante' Baker; parents: Wilbert (Linda) Footman, Sr., Debra Ling and James Nixon; sisters: Danielle (Bryon) Roberts, Shaquana Footman, and Tequesta Footman; brothers: Marcus (Vernique) Footman, Wilbert Footman, Jr. and Vontrell Footman; grandchildren: Alayah Norwood, Tanalai Mutch, and Karmyn Adams; godparents: Sam and Vera Hayes; godchildren: Akeena Simpo and Dakayla Hopkins; close friends: Lashannon Turner and Shajuan Smith; along with a host of other loving relatives and supportive friends.
