"Bummy"
1954-2022
"I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, and I have kept the faith." 2 Timothy 4:7
William "Bummy" Henry McGee, Jr. was born on August 30, 1954, in Madison Florida, to William Henry McGee, Sr. and Rebecca Mobley McGee. He was a lifelong resident in the area. Both of his parents preceded him in death.
A most meaningful experience during his life journey was Bummy's accepting Christ as his personal Savior. He joined Mt. Zion African Methodist Episcopal Church under the leadership of the Reverend Charles Evans, Sr.
Bummy received his formal education in the public schools of the Madison County School District. Afterwards, he immediately began his employment career and worked many years at Metal Products, Dixie Packers, and Florida Plywood respectively. Wherever he worked, he was a dedicated employee who was also well-known, much loved and highly respected.
During Bummy's retirement years, he had the opportunity to enjoy life itself and to spend time with his best friend/number one supporter/wife of 35 years, Lillian Jackson McGee. They had no problems adjusting to their new lifestyle of leisure and enjoyment. He loved spending many hours manicuring his yard to give it the "Yard of the Month" curb appeal. Together, they loved fishing, sitting on their porch, watching television, but most of all, spending time with their family.
Death takes the body; God takes the soul. On February 2, 2022, William Henry McGee, Jr. received his angel wings and transitioned from his earthly life to his eternal resting place with the Lord. Faith lets his loved ones know that they will meet again one day.
Their minds hold precious memories, and their hearts are keepers of William Henry McGee's love. Forever cherishing these special memories are his devoted wife: Lillian Jackson McGee; sons: Tony McGee of Lawton, OK and Theo (Cezanne Green, fiancée) McGee of Valdosta, GA; daughters: Shawnee Jones of Valdosta, GA and Teela McGee of Madison, FL; four grandchildren: Jamaiya Jones, Deonte' McGee, Tayveon McGee, and T.J.
