Mr. William McGee, Jr.
"Maine"
July 6, 1982 – January 9, 2024
"Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil: for thou art with me; thy rod and thy staff they comfort me." ~Psalm 23:4
William McGee, Jr. came into the world on July 6, 1982, as a blessing to his parents, William McGee, Sr. and Frances Ransom. He grew up with his siblings in Madison, Florida, and remained a lifelong resident of this community.
William Jr. was preceded in death by his father, William McGee, Sr. and mother-in-law, Cheryl Newsome.
William made a personal confession of his belief that Christ was his Redeemer; he was later baptized by faith and became a member of Evergreen Missionary Baptist Church. Because he had a heart for God, his worship experience engaged his interest in doing additional reading of the scriptures.
Known as "Maine" by his family and friends, William was also kind-hearted and generous. Because of his compassion for mankind, he loved to provide food/meals for anybody; he would have helped many others if he could.
Maine was gifted with an exceptional talent for cooking. He was employed for many years at Waffle House as a short order cook before he obtained his latest position at Popeye's. From these experiences, he became a master chef which earned him the title, "Grill Master".
When he was not grilling, Maine's favorite pastime was settling down to spend quality time with his family. His wife and children were the "apples of his eye", and he demonstrated his unconditional love for them all.
Then in a moment, and in the twinkling of an eye, William McGee, Jr. was at the close of his life journey. He answered the Master's call and crossed from this walk of life on Thursday, January 9, 2024. His soul is resting in the presence of the Lord.
Although it is difficult today to see beyond sorrow; may looking back in memory help comfort you tomorrow." Among the host of loved ones who shared the joys and sorrows of William McGee, Jr.'s life are his lovely wife: Toccara McGee of Madison, FL; sons: Towrence Franklin and Tyrese Franklin, both of Madison, FL; daughters: Tamia McGee, Brittney Hicks, Cidney Hicks, Whitney Hicks, all of Madison, FL; mother: Frances Ransom of Madison, FL; niece loved as his first daughter: Jessica Graham of Madison, FL; sisters: Frances Johnson and Yvonne Robinson, both of Madison, FL; brothers: John Lee Jackson and Edwin Swilley, both of Madison, FL; and granddaughter: Memori Munch; as well as many other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.
