Yvonne Lee Peek Johnson
1950-2024
Psalm 23:4 says, "Even though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death, I will fear no evil, for you are with me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me".

Yvonne Lee Peek Johnson began her life journey as the only child of James Louis Peek and Lucille Dasher Peek. Born on August 12, 1950, in Quitman, Georgia, she grew up in the Cherry Lake community of Madison, Florida. She remained a lifelong resident of this community until her recent relocation to Tallahassee, Florida.

Earlier in her life, Yvonne received in faith what Jesus Christ offered in grace. She made a personal confession of her belief in Him, was baptized by faith, and joined High Antioch African Methodist Episcopal Church. As she matured in faith, she realized that "The joy of the Lord was her strength." (Nehemiah 8:10) and that reading her Bible was her peace and key to victory. She showed more beauty in the world through her love of God, and her kind-heartedness and compassion for mankind. Her warm spirit together with her welcoming smile was also comforting to individuals she met along the way.

As Yvonne matured into her role as the family matriarch, she demonstrated her steadfast devotion to her family. She was an encourager who emphasized that her children and grandchildren give their best effort at whatever they attempted to do. She also instilled in them godly wisdom, just as she learned from her mother and grandmother, and the importance of knowing family and family history because "Family is everything."

Yvonne Lee Peek Johnson's life journey concluded when she closed her eyes for the last time on Tuesday, October 22, 2024, and opened them in eternity. Her hope was to know that through the Master of all life, she would see her loved ones again.

The cherished life legacy, endless love, and family values of Yvonne Lee Peek Johnson will be embedded in their everlasting memories that bind them together as family. Those who will miss her until they meet again are her devoted daughter: Eliza Parrish; faithful sons: Willie Parrish, Jr. and Chester (LaShonda) Parrish; loving grandchildren: LaShandre Brooks, Karrone Bouie, Keenen Brooks, Donte Brooks, Peyton Parrish, Kynadi Parrish, and Christopher James Parrish; affectionate great-grandchildren: Christopher Wells, Jr., Matthew Brooks, and Shantaya Bouie; god-children: Constantine Thomas and Latasha (Henry) Hamilton; along with other sorrowing relatives and loving friends.

Loved ones who preceded Yvonne Lee Peek Johnson in death were her parents: James Louis Peek and Lucille Dasher Peek; son: Rastus James Moore; aunt: Birda Dasher Williams, and uncle: George Williams.
